Here's a chance to meet three authors whose life stories will have you thinking, commiserating and, at times, laughing.

"Three Women, Three Memoirs," presented Monday evening at Sachem Public Library, brings together Nancy Bachrach, Alice Eve Cohen and Julie Metz, three authors whose lives have been more amazing than fiction.

In her book "The Center of the Universe," Bachrach wrote about life with her mother, who battled mental illness for decades. Cohen ("What I Thought I Knew") wrote about a surprise event in her life when, at age 44, her misdiagnosed medical condition was finally revealed: She was six months pregnant. And Julie Metz ("Perfection: A Memoir of Betrayal and Renewal") detailed how her life was shattered and ultimately salvaged after the death of her husband.

The event begins at 7 p.m. For more information, call 631-588-5024.
