Twitter is not just for the younger generations. The popular blogging site has a wealth of information for boomers and seniors. The government, for example, is attempting to see if Twitter can become a useful place to reach older adults who have questions about federal programs.

The U.S. General Services Administration, which operates the USAgov Twitter site (twitter.com/USAgov), is teaming up with the Social Security Administration to offer answers to questions about subjects such as benefits, retirement age and Medicare.

Going to bit.ly/ssa-twitter to ask questions, or log into your Twitter account and use the hashtag #SSAanswers. If you haven't signed up for Twitter, you can open a free account at twitter.com.

You can also find information at USAgov's Facebook page (facebook .com/USAgov).
