Five out of six Americans 65 and older take at least one prescription medication, according the CDC. And nearly half of seniors take three or more prescription drugs. Adding to the potential for problems, many seniors take drugs that have the potential to interact dangerously. And because physicians are constantly changing your prescriptions, you may have several expired medications in your home.

You can get some answers and advice about prescription medications at a seminar at Elwood Library in East Northport on Monday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. A registered pharmacist will talk about common drug interactions and how to dispose of expired medications.
