State parks, as well as parks run by Nassau and Suffolk counties, will stay open through the end of the month. Parks, campgrounds, beaches and pools will be fully staffed. The group Discover Long Island is calling it “September Summer," and hopes the extension will give a boost to businesses hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic.
