Texas granny accused of felonious gardening
It doesn't get any stranger than this: A 67-year-old woman was arrested in Oak Cliff, Texas, last week, accused of illegally pruning and cleaning up thickets on public property, according to the Dallas Morning News.
"The 5-foot-2-inch, 108-pound [Sandra] McFeeley says she has been cutting and removing briars, vines, dead tree limbs and trash from the woods of Wynnewood Parkway Park for three or so years," according to the report. "Whenever I get frustrated, I come out and clean it up and feel better," she said. "It's the cheapest therapy I know."
Apparently, someone in the area had been complaining because McFeeley's gardening efforts violated a posted warning that reads: "Protect the Greenbelt...Keep It Wild...It's the law!"
