Victory Garden task force gets to work in Suffolk

If you're reading this, chances are you're planning to plant some vegetables this spring. But have you thought about joining a community vegetable garden?

Back in January, Suffolk County formed a task force to solicit public input and recommendations about growing produce on public land. Now they're asking for help figuring out a plan for maintaining those gardens and distributing the crops.

If you'd like to get involved, attend one of these scheduled public hearings:

Wednesday, March 24, at 10 a.m,  Brookhaven Town Hall Auditorium, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville.

Wednesday, March 31, at 3 p.m., Farmingdale State University, Little Theater, 2350 Broadhollow Rd.
