'Wicked Bugs' on the way

Did you know it was an infestation of lice that brought down Napoleon's army? That George Washington's malaria treatment caused him to go deaf? Or that Christopher Columbus' crew cut off their toes to rid themselves of chigoe fleas? 

These and other little-known stories are recounted in "Wicked Bugs," the follow-up to Amy Stewart's entertaining "Wicked Plants," due in bookstores in May. In the meantime, Stewart seems to be having a lot of fun with it. Watch her just-released promotional video to see what I mean:
