<a href="/topics//Suffolk_County_Police">Suffolk County Police</a> Marine Bureau officers rescued two boaters in the Great South Bay after their engine lost power Friday afternoon. 
 The boaters were about a half mile north of <a href="/topics//Fire_Island_Pines,_NY">Fire Island Pines</a> when they called authorities at 1:20 p.m. seeking help as high winds rocked the 38-foot lobster vessel boat back and forth, bringing on 5-foot waves. 
 Officers used a line to tow the boat 3 miles to Brown's River. 
 The captain of the boat was Ramy Latif, 37, of <a href="/topics//Wantagh,_NY">Wantagh</a>, officers said. Police didn't identity the second person aboard the boat. Neither person was injured.
