4 arrested on drug charges in Baldwin

Four people – three of them from Freeport, the other from Baldwin – were arrested Monday evening on charges of drug possession after a joint investigation by Nassau County police Narcotics-Vice Bureau detectives and officers from the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team, authorities said.

Police said Julio N. Peralta, 51, of 35 Bedell St., Freeport, was arrested just after 9 p.m. in Baldwin, charged with five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The arrests came after police said detectives “observed” Peralta “conducting narcotics sales” from his 1998 BMW – selling drugs to three people in Freeport and Baldwin. Police said that about an ounce of cocaine and an undetermined amount of cash were recovered from Peralta’s vehicle.

Police identified those three suspects as Mohan Ramdahin, 46, of 7 Russell Place, Freeport, Pedro J. Quiroz, 56, of 16 Lincoln Place, Freeport, and Katiusca C. Polanco, 28, of 773 Merrick Rd., Baldwin. Ramdahin and Quiroz were each charged with one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and Polanco was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession.

Three of those arrested – Peralta, Ramdahin and Quiroz – are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Polanco was issued a desk appearance ticket returnable on March 10.
