NYPD Medal of Honor awarded to the late Anastasios Tsakos, highway patrol officer

The NYPD awarded the Medal of Honor to fallen NYPD Highway Patrol officer Anastasios Tsakos, which was accepted on his behalf by his widow, Irene Tsakos. Officer Tsakos, from East Northport, was struck and killed last year on the Long Island Expressway by an alleged drunken driver.
