Andrew M. Cuomo is a full-service governor.

Cuomo assisted a stranded driver on the Cross Island Parkway as blizzardlike conditions battered New York Saturday. He tweeted photos of the rescue at 2:28 p.m.

The rescue is being talked about on social media, with some calling it a “nice” gesture.

Cuomo says New Yorkers expect “full-service” from their elected officials, according to CNN executive producer Katie Hinman.

The rescue came just before Cuomo issued a travel ban. A traffic ban on all state and local roads on Long Island and New York City began at 2:30 p.m.

“Leadership is service,” Alambo Datonye Fred wrote on Facebook, sharing Cuomo’s photos.

Cody Matthew wrote on Facebook, “Would any of the politicians in Louisiana or the presidential candidates do this? I think not.”

Others questioned Cuomo’s motives and thought he took advantage of the situation for a photo opportunity.

“This Cuomo and the stranded driver story is beyond stupid. Go study budgets and let the real emergency workers do their jobs,” Twitter user @HealthStudent said.

Twitter user @bobconfer added, “Do it because you’re a good person. Don’t do it for recognition.”
