A Baldwin man has been arrested on robbery and burglary charges after allegedly violating an order of protection, Nassau County police said Friday.

Rodney Burgess, 31, of 2529 Edna Ct., violated the order several times in 2008 and 2009 when he broke into the residence of a woman who had obtained the protective order, police said.

First Squad detectives received a tip from a Crime Stoppers photograph that they used to trace Burgess' whereabouts. He was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of Rockwood Avenue and Grimm Place, police said.

Burgess was charged with robbery, two counts of burglary, criminal contempt, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
