MONDAY: The Commerce Department releases May orders for durable goods, a look at expensive, long-lived products such as cars, computers and appliances.

TUESDAY: New York metropolitan home prices in April from S&P/Case-Shiller. In the previous report, for March, local home prices posted their biggest year-over-year increase in nearly two years and have risen on a year-over-year basis for 50 consecutive months. Earnings: Olive Garden owner Darden Restaurants.

WEDNESDAY: The National Association of Realtors posts May pending home sales. The forward-looking report is an indicator of actual home sales in about two months. Earnings: General Mills.

THURSDAY: The third estimate of first-quarter GDP from the Commerce Department. Also, jobless benefits claims for the week ended June 24 from the Labor Department. Earnings: Nike.

FRIDAY: Personal income in May from the Commerce Department. Also, June consumer sentiment from the University of Michigan.
