Detectives are investigating a Monday morning bank robbery in Bohemia in which a dark-haired, bearded man made off with cash from a teller’s drawer, Suffolk County Police said.
At 9:43 a.m. the man — of medium build, 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 8 inches tall, around 25 to 30 years old — entered Capital One at 4110 Veterans Memorial Hwy., approached a teller and handed over a note demanding cash, police said. The teller complied, giving him cash from the drawer.
The man, dressed in blue jeans and a black jacket, wearing a 'Nuggets' hat and carrying a backpack, fled on foot, heading east on Veterans Memorial Highway and then south on Corporate Drive, police said.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS, with all calls kept confidential.
