Three Cedarhurst businesses were damaged in an early morning fire on Central Avenue that appears to have begun in a common basement, officials said Friday.

Photographs showed the row of buildings include a yogurt and ice cream store, a pharmacy and a pizza parlor. Fire officials did not say which businesses were damaged.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm, likely set off by the fire, at 604 Central Ave. around 2:35 a.m., according to Nassau police detectives. Police alerted the fire department, a fire official said.

Firefighters from the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department — along with 18 additional fire departments assisting — extinguished the flames, police said in a news release. No injuries were reported.

The investigation into the cause is still ongoing.
