Boy, 11, killed in Sagaponack bicycle accident, cops say

An 11-year-old boy was fatally struck by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle in the Village of Sagaponack Thursday evening, Southampton Town police said in a news release.
Police said the child was struck by a 2022 Ford Ranger as the driver backed up from a worksite on Town Line Road. Police said the boy was taken to a hospital and died of injuries from the crash.
Police have not identified the boy. The child's parents also responded to the scene, police said.
