Chopper carrying patient lands prematurely
A Nassau police helicopter transporting a injured person from Tobay Beach to a hospital made a premature landing Wednesday afternoon in Seaford due to a malfunction on the helicopter, police said.
The patient, whose injuries were not life threatening, was transferred to an ambulance and continued on to the hospital, police said.
The helicopter landed at Seaford High School about 4:40 p.m., police said.
Information concerning the nature of the malfunction was not immediately available.
