Republican State Sen. Jack Martins has picked up endorsements from three Nassau County police unions and former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton in his bid for Congress in the Third District.

The Nassau Police Benevolent Association as well as the Detectives and Superior Officers Associations have lined up behind Martins.

“Since day one, Jack Martins’ support of police officers and their families has been unwavering,” said Brian Hoesl, president of Superior Officers Association.

Bolton, who served as U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations in 2005 and 2006, said Martins “understands as I do that the Iran nuclear deal is one of the worst foreign policy deals the United States has ever negotiated.”

Bolton, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, said “we need his voice in Congress … to rethink and renegotiate our foreign policy.”

Martins faces Democrat Thomas Suozzi, a former Nassau County executive, in the Nov. 8 election.
