Levy fundraiser McShane quits Democratic Party post
Veteran Democratic operative Anne McShane will step down as a state party committeewoman rather than quit her role as Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy's chief fundraiser now that he's turned Republican. Levy's campaign had paid McShane $35,000 this year as of July 15. McShane made "a commitment to finish" work for Levy, but plans to depart by year's end. Her husband, William, a former Democratic elections worker, has resigned as Levy's campaign treasurer. His wife cited "personal reasons."- Rick Brand
