Former Suffolk Family Court Judge Marlene Budd has left her job as a $151,119-a-year bureau chief in the Suffolk County attorney’s office to become principal law clerk for State Supreme Court Justice William Rebolini, but with a $11,401 pay cut.

Budd left her county post Feb. 17 and began work for Rebolini in Riverhead last Tuesday. Her pay will be $139,718 annually.

Budd, a former Huntington Town Board member and a former acting state Supreme Court justice, lost re-election to Family Court in 2015. She had headed the county attorney’s real estate bureau for the past two years.

Budd’s election loss came after the Suffolk Bar Association’s 24-member judicial screening committee in 2015 found her not qualified for re-election. The ruling later was reversed by the association’s board of directors.

Budd, of South Setauket, is the ex-wife of former Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington). Budd did not return calls for comment.
