Stern gets SEIU Local 1199 United Health Care Workers backing

Suffolk County Legis. Steve Stern has won the endorsement of the powerful SEIU Local 1199 United Health Care Workers East in his bid for retiring Rep. Steve Israel’s Third District seat.

“Steve stern has a 100 percent pro-labor voting record and has always worked for Long Island’s working families,” said George Gersham, SEIU 1199 president.

Stern vowed to “make sure Congress focuses on middle class priorities and not the special interests.”
