Thomas Suozzi, Jon Kaiman announce endorsements for Congress
Former Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi has gotten the backing of Paul Vallone, a New York City councilman from Queens, in his bid for retiring Rep. Steve Israel’s Third District Seat.
Suozzi, the only Italian-American in the race, also got the endorsement of the New York Italian-American Political Action Committee and the national Italian-American Leadership Council.
“Tom Suozzi has always fought hard for what he believes in and has a proven track record of getting things done,” said Vallone. “He understands the needs of this district and will work hard for his constituents in Washington to bring home critical federal funds.”
“The Italian-American PAC believes that Tom Suozzi ... embodies the type of leadership our organization supports,” said James C. Lisa, president of IAMPAC.
Former North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman, who also is seeking the Democratic nomination to succeed Israel, announced the backing of Plumbers Local 200.
Kaiman also has been endorsed by CWA 1180 and Teamsters Local 817.
