Ecuadorean immigrant Marcelo Lucero was fatally stabbed Nov. 8, 2008 in Patchogue after he and a friend were surrounded by seven teenagers who had gone out looking to attack Latinos, a bias crime that drew national attention to Suffolk County. The teens, who came to be known as the "Patchogue 7," were sentenced to varying amounts of time in prison.
