A Boston man wanted on a warrant out of Massachusetts was arrested in Greenport Monday as he got off the ferry from Shelter Island, police said.

Anton M. Miles, 27, of 151 Homestead St. in Boston was arrested by Southold Town police after he initially gave the arresting officer a false name, police said.

He was charged with criminal impersonation, then released to the custody of the Shelter Island police department to face additional charges there, police said. It was not immediately clear what Miles was charged with in Shelter Island.

The nature of the warrant from Massachusetts also was not immediately clear.

Police said Miles was stopped after a call from the Shelter Island police that said that he was wanted and was aboard the North Ferry driving a green Honda.

Officer Frank Lyburd III made the stop, at which time Miles gave him a false name, police said.
