A 27-year-old fugitive, wanted for shooting at undercover narcotics New York City police officers, was taken into custody in Bay Shore, officials said on Friday.

Raymond Smith, 27, of Brooklyn, also had an outstanding New York City warrant for possession of a forged instrument, State Police said in a news release.

Smith was captured Thursday at an undisclosed location in Bay Shore by State Police and U.S. Marshal’s Service, who turned him over to the NYPD, State Police said.
