Cops investigating Roosevelt deli robbery
The trio, one armed with a handgun, walked into a deli in Roosevelt late Saturday night -- and tried to rob the place. But the three would-be robbers didn't get a dime.
Now Nassau County police are searching for them.
The incident occurred at Charlie's Deli on Babylon Turnpike at 11 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the robbers, all believed to be in their late teens, walked into the place, and one pointed a handgun at the cashier, demanding money.
The cashier, alone in the store, ran to the back of the deli -- and the robbers fled.
Police said nothing was taken. No one was injured.
Police said the trio were all wearing masks and gloves.
One also wore a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, another a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The third robber wore a white hooded sweatshirt, white gloves, dark jeans and red-and-white sneakers.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
