A Massapequa man was arrested on charge of driving while intoxicated with his young son in tow Saturday after he crashed into another vehicle in Amityville, Suffolk police said.
At 2 p.m., Suffolk police said Ryan Hannigan was driving a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he turned left at Oak Street and Broadway, into oncoming traffic. Hannigan, 36, of Lamplighter Lane, collided with a 2007 Nissan Maxima driven by a 34-year-old Copiague man, police said.
Police said Amityville Rescue sent the Copiague man to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, in West Islip, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Hannigan and his son were not injured, police said, and the child was released to a family member.
Police charged Hannigan with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger 15 years old or younger, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Hannigan faces arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
