A Central Islip teacher had to be subdued with a stun gun during his arrest on a drunken driving charge Tuesday night in Eastport, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Jay Condrill, 47, a teacher in the Central Islip School District, was arrested after officers responding to a disturbance call at the Triangle Pub on Old Montauk Highway at 11:21 p.m.spotted him exiting his vehicle in what “appeared to be” an “intoxicated condition,” police said.

Officers Timothy Benson and Scott Jensen said that when they attempted to arrest Condrill he “threatened to physically harm the officers” and refused orders “to place his hands behind his back.”

Police said the officers were “forced to use physical force” and “ultimately had to deploy a Taser” to arrest Condrill.

Condrill, of 611 Montauk Hwy. in Eastport, was charged with driving while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Arraignment details were not immediately available Wednesday.

Police said Condrill had been asked to leave the Triangle Pub after “reportedly acting in a disorderly manner,” but then returned. He was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment, police said.
