A West Hempstead woman has been arrested, charged with stealing from a victim's bank account in Ohio and illegally wiring more than $25,000 to her bank account, Nassau County police said.

Police said Rashida Davis, 29, of 31 Melvin Ave., was arrested Thursday on Main Street in Hempstead, and charged with third-degree grand larceny.

Police said the crime occurred at noon on Feb. 24.

Crimes Against Property Squad detectives said Davis had funds "illegally wired to her checking account" at TD Bank in Valley Stream from the account of a victim at a Chase Bank branch account in Ohio.

Over the next three days, police said, Davis withdrew $26,000 in cash.

She is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
