Cops: Wyandanch man shot brother with bow and arrow

A Wyandanch man shot his brother with a bow and arrow Wednesday afternoon, police said.
At 2:20 p.m., officers responded to an emergency call at 42 Bedford St., where they discovered Fred Allen Austin, 54, with an arrow wound to his chest, police said.
Austin told officers his brother, Benjamin Austin, 55, shot him with a bow and arrow and that he was somewhere on the second floor of their house, according to police. Officers found Benjamin Austin inside a closet in an upstairs bedroom.
Fred Austin was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip to be treated for a minor chest wound, police said.
Benjamin Austin was charged with third degree reckless assault, police said. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Thursday.
