Traffic on the southbound Sagtikos Parkway was backed up late Sunday afternoon after a car struck a utility pole, state police said. The utility pole collapsed and landed on the car at about 3:30 p.m., state police said. It was unclear whether anyone was injured.

The car was southbound on the parkway when it struck the pole just south of the Northern State Parkway, state police said. The accident caused traffic delays in the parkway’s southbound lanes.

A tow truck responded to remove the car, state police said.
