Two men — one masquerading as a police officer, the other as a good Samaritan — stole $14,000 from a woman making a deposit at a Wantagh bank branch Friday, according to Nassau police.

The 52-year-old victim was attempting to make a business deposit at the TD Bank at 1200 Wantagh Ave., police said in a release. They are investigating the incident as a larceny.

The woman was at the bank at about 12:20 p.m. and had gotten out of her car when a man she didn't know approached, said he was a cop and told her to move her vehicle.

"The victim returned to her vehicle, placed her bank deposit inside her car and was again approached by another unknown male subject advising her that she dropped some money. The victim proceeded to pick up the loose money and upon returning back to her vehicle, the US Currency that she placed inside her vehicle was missing," the release said.

The woman's name and business weren't disclosed in the release, which also did not say whether there are any suspects.
