2 charged in Riverhead shoe store robbery, cops say
Two men were arrested after, police said, they robbed a Main Street shoe store in downtown Riverhead Sunday.
Rahiem A. Washington, 30, and Rashawn George, 35, both of Riverhead, have been charged with second-degree robbery and will be arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court on Monday.
Police say the two suspects walked into Sneaker Aquarium at 41 E. Main St. on Sunday at 5:10 p.m. and robbed the store clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash and shoes.
The men fled on foot but were apprehended a short while later, police said.
