3 men charged with possession of illegal drugs, police say
Three men are charged with possession of illegal drugs, one of whom sold narcotics from his home near a Massapequa Park elementary school, after an investigation that began in December, Nassau County police said Saturday.
Narcotics detectives received anonymous tips about narcotics being sold from a home on Atlantic Avenue near East Lake Elementary School, police said.
The first arrest occurred Feb. 10 when Justin Johns, 37, of Massapequa, was pulled over in his 2015 Ford SUV for not making a complete stop, police said. He had two wax envelopes of heroin labeled “BEAST MODE,” with him, police said. Johns was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. He was released on his own recognizance, court records show.
Three days later, detectives spotted Clifford Wagner, 52, of Farmingdale, make a hand-to-hand transaction in front of the home on Atlantic Avenue, police said. Wagner then sped off, breaking a number of traffic laws before he was pulled over, police said. Wagner, who did not have a valid driver’s license, also had two similar bags of heroin, police said. He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Then on Friday, investigators raided the Atlantic Avenue home of Stephen Robinson, 44, where they found 62 envelopes of heroin with the same label, police said. Robinson was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, six counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, for selling to Johns while his 8-year-old child was at home, police said.
Robinson was held on $25,000 bail, $50,000 bond, according to court records. It was not known if he had an attorney.
