The 911 calls reported the driver of a white pick-up truck was driving erratically on northbound Nicolls Road in Selden. And, some of the callers told Suffolk County police, the truck had just three wheels.

By the time responding officers located the vehicle Wednesday night, the Ford F 150 pick-up truck had been involved in a three-car collision on eastbound Route 25 in Selden — near the intersection of Boyle Road. One person suffered minor injuries, police said.

Officers found that the truck did have just three wheels.

They also said they discovered the driver was drunk — and arrested him for DWI.

Police have not released the identity of the driver, citing an ongoing investigation in the crash, which occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Investigators are trying to determine whether the 2006 Ford lost the missing wheel in a previous hit-and-run accident Wednesday.
