4 charged in convenience store burglary
A watchful convenience store owner helped nab four men as they burglarized his Elmont store, police said.
According to Nassau County police detectives, Ramon Quezada, 34, of College Point, Queens; Erickson Casado, 20, unknown address; Ignacio Henriquez, 23, of Queens; and Alex Paz, 23, of Jamaica, Queens, broke into the Meacham Convenience Store at 4:55 a.m. Friday.
Police said the four entered by pushing in a rear door of the store located at 300 Meacham Ave. Once they were inside, an unknown amount of money was taken from the cash register and cartons of cigarettes were packed into a bag. The owner notified police after monitoring them on surveillance video, police said. The men were arrested at that scene by responding officers.
Quezada is being charged with third degree burglary and third degree criminal possession of stolen property. Casado, Henriquez and Paz are each being charged with third degree burglary and third degree larceny. They are to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
