An Amityville man is due back in court Friday to face charges that he robbed a woman at knifepoint in Great Neck last week, inappropriately touching her before stealing phones after she refused to hand over cash, police said.

Levar O. Burton, 24, of Albany Avenue, was ordered held on $100,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond at his arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, court records show.

Burton was arrested at his home Sunday at 10:15 p.m. and charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree sexual abuse, Nassau County police said.

Police said Burton, armed with a knife, approached the woman, 39, from behind as she walked along Middle Neck Road in Great Neck at about 4:15 a.m. on March 7. Burton demanded cash, police said. Police said the woman refused.

Burton then “used his hand to inappropriately touch the victim,” police said. Then, police said, he stole two phones and fled.

Additional details were not immediately available.
