State Police arrested an Amityville man early Sunday on charges of weapons and marijuana possession.

Matthew G. Clements, 32, is scheduled to appear in Nassau County First District Court on Wednesday. He is being represented by the Legal Aid Society, according to online court documents.

Valley Stream troopers stopped a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus around 1:20 a.m. on the eastbound Southern State Parkway near exit 23 for failing to maintain its lane, State Police said in a news release.

The troopers found that Clements was in possession of three handguns, including one that was loaded and had been reported stolen, as well as marijuana, the release said.

Clements is charged with second- and third-degree counts of criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of marijuana and traffic violations.
