Police are investigating a shooting that left a 34-year-old man wounded in North Amityville.

Suffolk County police said the man, whose identity has not been released, had stepped outside a residence on Glenmalure Street Sunday and was headed toward his 2020 Honda Accord when he was struck by at least one of two shots fired from a passing white sedan — a car, police said, was believed to be a Mercedes Benz.

The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Police did not immediately have additional details.
