Police say a man armed with a knife and lead pipe entered a Levittown home through an unlocked door early Wednesday morning, forcing the occupants into a bathroom while he robbed the residence — ultimately driving away in one victim’s car.

The crime took place on North Jerusalem Road at 4:40 a.m., authorities said. Four people were in the home at the time, including two adult men, one woman and a teenage boy, all of whom were upstairs.

The intruder woke them all, forcing them into a bathroom while he stole unnamed items along with the keys to one victim’s car and an ATM card.

A fifth man arrived at the house during the robbery and shut himself in a downstairs bedroom.

The intruder attempted to gain entry to the bedroom by banging on the door with the pipe. The victim remained inside and called police.

The bandit fled in a 2005 Honda CRV.

He is described as a 5-foot-6-inches tall and 165 pounds, authorities said. He was wearing a dark jacket and blue latex gloves.

Police ask anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
