Armed men force their way into Deer Park home
Two men wearing ski masks and armed with a handgun forced their way into a Deer Park home Monday night, injuring the homeowner and fleeing with stolen jewelry, Suffolk police said.
The 45-year-old victim sustained a laceration to his head and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment, police said.
After responding to a knock at the door at a West 21 Street home about 7 p.m., police said, the homeowner, who was alone at the time, tried unsuccessfully to stop the two men.
Suffolk police asked that anyone with information about the incident contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152, or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
