Who killed Armindo Reis?

Three years after the Dix Hills man was found shot to death in his home, Suffolk County police are asking for the public's help in finding his killer — or killers.

Police said Thursday that Reis, 74, was discovered at about 6:15 p.m. on June 11, 2019, by his son, who had been called to the house on Penn Drive by neighbors after they had been unable to contact Reis.

Responding Second Precinct officers found Reis dead of a gunshot wound, police said in an 2019 news release about the murder.

Homicide Squad detectives Thursday asked for help from the public in generating new information about the unsolved crime. Anyone with information is being asked to call detectives at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward for any information leading to an arrest.

In addition to calling in tips, tipsters can submit anonymous tips via a mobile app downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips.
