A Uniondale man was arrested after attacking another man with a machete early Sunday, Nassau police said.
Police said they took Pierre Fede, 29, into custody after First Precinct officers observed him running with a machete at a man at the intersection of Duryea Avenue and Cedar Street in Uniondale around 12:55 a.m.
The 25-year-old victim, who suffered lacerations and abrasions to his face and ear, was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Fede had stolen the victim’s cellphone and an undetermined amount of cash, police said. He was charged with first- and second-degree robbery and assault. He is to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Attorney information for Fede was not immediately available.
