A Brentwood man who got behind the wheel while drunk and high after a holiday party in December and caused a wrong-way crash that put an 11-year-old boy in the hospital, where he remains, and also injured his parents, Nassau County prosecutors said Wednesday.

Job Giuliani, 30, who was also hurt in the Atlantic Beach crash, pleaded not guilty from his wheelchair to aggravated vehicular assault, drunken and reckless driving and being drug impaired, among other charges at his felony arraignment in Nassau County Court.

Authorities said that the boy, his father, and mother were heading to dinner on Dec. 11, around 5:30 p.m. in Atlantic Beach, when Giuliani, coming from a beach club soiree, barreled down the left lane of Beech Street as the family was heading the opposite direction on the correct side of the road.

The cars collided head-on, severely injuring the child and mother and leaving the father with pain in his wrist and knee, prosecutors said.

The boy and mother were airlifted to the hospital, according to prosecutors.

Doctors put the child in a medically induced coma for nearly two weeks as they worked to save his life. As a result of the crash, the boy suffered the loss of kidney function, a lacerated spleen and liver, and a broken leg and rib, authorities said.

He is still recovering from his injuries in the hospital.

His mother fractured her spine and a rib and spent two weeks in the hospital, according to prosecutors.

Giuliani's blood-alcohol test showed him to be over the legal limit to drive, prosecutors said. Investigators said that his blood also tested positive for marijuana nearly an hour after the crash.

His defense lawyer, Jenna Spelke, asked acting Supreme Court Justice Colin O’Donnell to reduce his bond from $1 million to $500,000, citing his close ties to the community and long-standing employment, but the request was denied.

The attorney declined to comment on the charges after the arraignment.

Giuliani is scheduled to return to court on March 5.
