Suffolk County police have arrested four people after police say they smacked an acquaintance with a baseball bat and shot him with a BB gun in Lake Ronkonkoma on Wednesday night.

Police said in a news release that officers responded to Larry’s Landing on Lake Shore Road around 10:30 after receiving a disturbance call. There, police said they discovered a 20-year-old Lake Grove man who had been attacked by his acquaintances. Police did not name the victim.

The man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was admitted with serious injuries.

Police located the four suspected attackers: Ruben Jadan, 20, Chase Langford, 20, and an unnamed 16-year-old and 18-year-old. The four face charges of first-degree gang assault, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. Police told Newsday they do not believe it was a gang-related attack. Gang assault refers to an attack involving at least three assailants, according to New York State law.

The 16-year-old boy was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in family court. The other three were scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
