Baldwin shooting leaves man in critical condition, police say
Nassau County police said they are investigating a late Monday shooting in Baldwin.
First Squad detectives said officers responded to a 911 call at 11:57 p.m. for someone needing help in a commercial parking lot at the corner of Grand and Grand Terrace avenues.
When they arrived they found a man, 20, with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Another man was seen getting into a black sedan and fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he is listed in critical condition and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
