A masked man armed with a large knife robbed a Subway restaurant in Baldwin on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police said the suspect approached two female employees and demanded cash from the register. The man then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, heading north on Grand Avenue. No customers were present during the robbery and no injuries were reported.

Nassau detectives said the suspect was described as about 5 feet 11 inches tall, of medium build and unknown race, clad in a tan hooded jacket and dark partial face mask.

Saturday evening, a masked man wielding a kitchen knife robbed a Subway restaurant in Merrick. Police said they were investigating whether the Merrick robbery is part of a string of robberies this month at Dunkin’ Donuts locations: two in Plainview and one each in New Hyde Park, Old Bethpage and East Meadow.

Detectives asked that anyone with information about these robberies contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
