A Lawrence bank was robbed Tuesday morning by a man who handed a teller a note demanding money, Nassau police said.

He took an unspecified amount of money, police said, and fled the Bank of America branch, 400 Central Ave., on foot, going north on Washington Avenue about 10:45 a.m..

There were 10 people in the bank during the robbery, seven employees and three customers, police said, but none were no reported injured.

The robber was described as about 45 to 50 years old, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 tall, medium build, wearing a black winter cap and green GAP hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
