An employee at a bar in Westbury is charged with punching a patron and slashing him in the neck outside the tavern, Nassau County police said Sunday.
According to detectives the incident occurred at 10:15 p.m. Saturday when Robert A. Skinner, 45, of Nassau Road, Uniondale, who works at His and Hers bar on Post Avenue was in a fight with a 53-year-old male customer.
Police said the two walked outside to the rear of the restaurant where Skinner punched the victim and slashed him in the neck with a knife causing a small cut. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment for his injuries. Skinner was arrested at the scene.
Skinner is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police said an investigation also revealed Skinner had an open Nassau County warrant from 2012 for obstruction of governmental administration. No details were immediately available on that case.
Skinner is scheduled for arraignment on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
