A Massapequa Park father and son face assault charges after they struck a landscaper multiple times with a wooden rod and baseball bat Tuesday afternoon, Nassau police said.
Around 1:55 p.m., a 34-year-old landscaper drove to a Grant Street residence to perform yard work and allegedly drove equipment over the apron of the driveway at the home of Brian McKeon, 67, and Brian McKeon Jr., 33.
The father and son came out of their house and argued with the landscaper, police said.
The argument escalated into a physical altercation when the father and son allegedly struck the man multiple times with a wooden rod and a black baseball bat, police said.
The landscaper called 911. When officers arrived they took the man to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
The father and son were found near the Grant Street home and were arrested without incident; officers recovered the bat and rod near the scene, police said.
Both McKeons were charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
They will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
